Join us on a five-day trek through the Low Tauern in Austria. A paradise of mountain lakes awaits us. Part of our Alpine crossing of the Austrian Alps will be a climb to the 2862 m high Hochgolling peak, which is one of the beautiful dominants of this part of the mountain range.

The Low Tauern Mountains are characterized by numerous mountain lakes, the remains of glaciers that no longer exist. More than thirty lakes, one more picturesque than the other, shimmer and shine in the quiet kars and mild muldas. After climbing Greifenberg, we will have a view of the entire cauldron and the backdrop of the Dachstein High Tauern in the background. Without a doubt, the highest point of the Low Tauers is the massive Hochgolling rock massif. At the foot of its more than 1,000-meter north face is the Gollingwinkel, said to be the "highest amphitheater in the world."

This entire five-day hike is one of the more demanding treks that require confidence when walking partly on narrow and exposed trails. A few places are secured with steel ropes. The first and last stages require good fitness. The program includes hikes lasting mainly 7 hours with an elevation gain of up to 2000 m. They sleep in alpine huts. We guide treks in small groups of up to 6 people.
