Peru and Bolivia are wonderful countries full of colors, where we will discover the secrets of the Incas, admire the snow-capped peaks of the six-thousand-thousand-thousand-thousand-thousand-meter peaks, turquoise lakes, massive sand dunes and archaeological treasures of pre-Columbian cultures.

We will also taste part of the legendary Inca trail. We will visit Cusco, the Inca "navel of the world" and one of the most beautiful Peruvian cities. Next, we will look at Lake Titicaca, visit the sacrificial temple of Aclla Huasi, the cactus paradise on Incawasi Island, the fabulous salt flats of Uyuni and other beautiful places.

The UIMLA mountain guide has the highest international license to work in the mountains and has liability insurance.

1st day:
transfer from the airport to the hotel, tour of La Paz

2nd day: COPACABANA & LAKE TITICACA.
We will go on a journey to Lake Titicaca (approx. 4 hours) On the way we will visit the museum of Paulino Esteban, a Bolivian Indian. We will find out how a type of reed boat is made using the tora reed, an endemic species of the Andes. Then we will drive to Copacabana (3825 m / 12546 ft) on the shore of Lake Titicaca. It is a beautiful city and a popular resort and pilgrimage area with lots to see and several surrounding hills that offer breathtaking views of the lake and the Cordillera Real. At Copacabana Beach we will board a motorboat and continue our journey for another hour to the southernmost side of Isla del Sol, where we will land near an Incan temple called Pilkokaina and have lunch in a typical restaurant with a wonderful view of the lake, where we will enjoy a traditional late lunch. Then we will visit Pilkokaina temple. In the late afternoon we will take a walk to the highest point of the island (4070 m) to enjoy the sunset over the lake. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. (L, D)

3rd day: COPACABANA - WALK TO INCA GARDEN & MOON ISLAND.
In the morning, we will leave the hotel for a one-hour walk with a visit to an idyllic garden with an Incan spring, considered by the locals to be the fountain of youth. Then we will take a boat to Moon Island (about 45 minutes drive). We will visit the Aclla Huasi Temple of the Sun Virgins, where girls were raised for sacrifice. From the village of Coati, we will take another boat to the replicas of the floating islands of the Urus people, where we will catch trout for lunch. Back in Copacabana, we will visit the Indian markets and the Copacabana Church, which houses the famous Virgin Mary of La Candelaria. Return back to La Paz. Overnight at the hotel. (BLD)

Day 4: SALT FLAT OF UYUNI & QUEMES.
Early in the morning we will fly to Uyuni (one hour flight). We will move by 4x4 to the village of Colchani and explore how the locals transform natural salt into table salt using rustic ovens and tools. Colchani is the entrance to the fabulous Uyuni salt flats. On the way, we will stop at Incawasi Island, which is a giant cluster of volcanic ash stones with hundreds of giant cacti growing all around. In the village of Quemes, we will visit the Galaxy cave with unusual rock formations. Hotel accommodation in comfortable rustic artistic style Tayka Hotel de Piedra. Overnight stay at an altitude of 3800 m. About 7 hours of travel. (BLD)

Day 5: DESIERTO DE SILOLI.
We drive around San Juan with a tour of unusual graves made of coral fossils. After crossing the Chiguana salt plain, we reach the Ollague lava flows and pass a series of colorful lakes (Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarkota, Honda) with a large concentration of Andean birds. Accommodation at the Tayka del Desierto hotel. Overnight at an altitude of 4600 m. 7 hours journey (B, L, D)

Day 6: DESIERTO SILOLI & LAGOON COLORADA & NEGRA & MALLKU.
We will drive past the Silala hill with a large number of Andean marmots. We will stop at the huge Aeolian formations with surreal figures "Arbol de Piedra". Here, the bushy vegetation disappears completely and gives way to dunes. In an hour we will arrive at Lagoon Colorado and enjoy the fascinating magical environment of the red lagoon with countless flamingos flying all around. Accommodation in the hotel Mallku Cueva. Day 7: RETURN TO UYUNI.
On the way back to Uyuni, we will pass Lagoon Negra, lava flows and the rupestrian paintings of Mallku. Aeolian formations of Ciudad Italia, train graveyard (huge clusters of old historic trains. Arrival in Uyuni at 13:30 for a late lunch and accommodation at the Casa de Sal Hotel. At 17:00 we will move to the salt flats to enjoy the sunset. Return to the hotel. (BL)

Day 8: FLIGHT TO LA PAZ.
Transfer to the airport and flight to La Paz. Transfer to Hotel Bivouac. (B)

Day 9: DEPARTURE. After breakfast, depart for Cusco. (B)

Day 9: TRANSFER AND CITY TOUR
Upon arrival at Cusco airport, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon we will go on a city tour: visit the cathedral, Koricancha (the most magnificent Inca temple) and the magnificent ruins of Saqsaywaman, Kenko, Pukapukara and Tambomachay. After visiting these places, we will return to Cusco. (L)

Day 10: FULL DAY SACRED VALLEY
After breakfast, we will move to Pisac, where we will visit its typical craft market, which is a good reason to stop and find unique and authentic souvenirs. We then visit the archaeological site of Pisac, an Inca site that remains somewhat mysterious as to their absolute purpose, but they were probably part of a settlement along an important Inca route. With the Amazon rainforest to the east of the Pisac mountains, it represented a kind of junction between the highlands and the jungle. After lunch in the sacred valley, we will go to the city of Ollantaytambo, one of the last Inca cities. Overnight at a hotel in the Sacred Valley. (B, L)

Day 11: TOUR MARAS – MORAY
Today we will drive towards Moray, an experimental agricultural terrace. It is believed that the Incas created their own microclimate in this fascinating area to adapt plants to this altitude. We will then head to the Maras Salt Mine, which consists of a large number of small saltwater pools, where every three days during the dry season workers fill the pools with saltwater from natural springs at the top of the Maras complex. After lunch we will drive to Ollantaytambo train station, where we will board the train to Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu. Overnight in Aguas Caliente – Machupicchu. (B, L)

12th day: Inca trail “1” CUSCO – KM. 82 – HUAYLLABAMBA:
We will move from the hotel to km. 82 where we will meet our porters and equipment. We start our trek accompanied by porters and walk through semi-arid terrain along the Uruamba River with wonderful views of snow-capped mountains. We will leave the Urubamba Valley and head to the Kusichaca River to our first camp in Huayllabamba (about 3000 m above sea level – 9842 m above sea level). (B,L,D)
Km. 82 to Huayllabamba: approximately 11 km / 6 hours.

13th day: Inca trail “2” HUAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYO:
After breakfast, we will walk to the Warmihuañusca pass (4200 m - approximately 13860 ft). After a while we reach the top of the pass. From this point it is possible to see the other side of the road leading to the Runkurakay ruins. At the end of the gorge we stop at a place called Pacaymayo (3600 m - 11181 ft.), our second campsite. (B,L,D)
Huayllabamba-Pacaymayo: approximately 7 km / 7 hours

14th day: Inca trail “3” PACAYMAYO – PHUYUPATAMARCA
From Pacaymayo, we face a winding but short climb to the circular ruins of Runkurakay. There are no signs of human life, just big forests and steep hills. After a good rest, we will start our journey down the very well-preserved Inca Trail. Soon we will reach the stairs that lead to the ruins of Sayacmarca (3620 m - approx. 11946 ft). From Sayacmarca, the stone path begins to head into the jungle and we continue our journey towards the ruins of Phuyupatamarca. The trail crosses "Lago Seco". We will then cross the "Tunnel", a natural cavity created by a landslide but modified by the Incas. The well-marked boundaries of the Inca Trail continue on hills full of moss and ferns. After crossing a small pass we will see some steep steps and below them the Ceremonial Center of Phuyupatamarca Ruins (3650m – 12045ft approx). This is where we will have our last camp. (B,L,D)
Pacaymayo – Phuyupatamarca: approximately 5 km / 5 hours.

Day 15: Inca trail “4” PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAYWAYNA – MACCHU PICCHU – CUSCO:
We start early in the morning with a 3-hour trail trek until we reach Wiñaywayna (2,700 m - approx. 8,856 ft), the main archeological site after Machupicchu on the Inca Trail. Views of the Urubamba Valley await us today. Next we continue to Inti Punk (2740 m – 9042 ft approx) Sun Gate which is our last pass. After lunch (lunch box) we will visit the citadel. We will then head down to the town of Aguas Calientes, from where we will take the train back to Cusco. Arrival in Cusco late at night. Overnight at a hotel in Cusco (Breakfast / Lunch box)
Phuyupatamarca – Machu Picchu: 9 km / 7 hours

Day 16: DEPARTURE.
After breakfast transfer to Cusco airport and departure.
