Trip description

Aconcagua 6,961 m is the highest mountain of the entire American continent, the entire western and southern hemisphere, and also probably the highest trekking peak in the world. Aconcagua was called Anco-cahuac in the Inca language. This name means White Guard in Quechua.

This is a mountain climb that cannot be underestimated. The difficulty of the ascent is determined by the climatic conditions and the high altitude. It is stated that it corresponds climatically to the lower 8000s in the Himalayas. A great danger is mainly a strong cold wind, sometimes reaching a speed of over 150 km/h (the famous "Viento Blanco"). In the top parts of the ascent above 6,000 m, the temperature during the day should be expected to be around -20°C, the wind almost always around 50 – 70 km/h – if Viento Blanco is not stronger, then 150 km/h. For the success of the ascent, experience with alpine four-thousanders or other five-thousanders is useful.

There are several ways to get to the top of the Andes. We recommend 'Aconcagua 360°'. This route starts from the Valle de Vacas, passes through an amazing pastel colored landscape and then connects to the normal below the Polish Glacier. After the ascent, we descend by the normal route, here count on the mass of people that we will pass on the way with a rapid descent. The 360 is therefore a combination of 2 routes that provide a panoramic view of the iconic Argentine peak. And another advantage is that you can see the hill from both sides. In addition, 360 allows for great acclimatization and thus increases the chances of reaching the top. In addition, this route is less crowded, so you will find more flora and fauna, you will be able to observe the amazing landscape of the Andes Mountains and incredible views of the Polish Glacier.
