Trip description

Come with us to discover the beauty of the mountains of eastern Turkey. As part of our acclimatization, we will climb Süphan Dağı 4058m, an extinct stratovolcano located on the northern shore of Lake Van. Then we will head to the legendary Mount Ararat 5165m. The climbs are not technically demanding.

In addition to its saving function during the apocalypse in the Old Testament, the biblical Ararat also has the role of the most sacred mountain for the Armenian culture, lost during the Turkish aggression. The ascent to Ararat is not extremely difficult, the relatively high altitude can cause problems. That is why we devote part of our trip to the acclimatization climb to Mt. Suphan. We are also waiting for a tour of local historical monuments and getting to know Kurdish culture.

The local Kurdish people will surprise you with their hospitality and friendliness. We will enjoy the entire trek with ease with top service including full board! We ride in small groups with a Czech certified mountain guide and a local guide, usually up to 8 people.

Ararat can also be climbed on skialps or snowshoes in the second half of April and in May. If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact us.
