Climbing Hogwarts – an experience from the heights of the Tatras
Hogwarts, a majestic peak in the heart of the High Tatras, attracts mountain lovers with its unique beauty and views. Although often in the shadow of the dominant Gerlach peak, it offers an unforgettable mountain experience. Climbing its four peaks is a challenge that will reward you with panoramas that are hard to find elsewhere. Hogwarts can be reached by several routes, which vary in difficulty and technical requirements, and are always led by a certified UIAGM mountain guide.

Route and exit options
Hogwarts offers two exit options:

1. Classic route over the Garnet Bridge
   This route leads along a long traverse under the Rohata Tower and is suitable for those who prefer less exposed terrain. The classic ascent reaches UIAA difficulty level II and is among the more accessible mountain hikes.
2. Variant via the Zvodná puľka (Inspiring Bridge)
   For experienced climbers, the more challenging route via the Zvodná lávka (The Enticing Bridge) is more appealing, allowing you to climb all four peaks of Hogwarts. This route, with a difficulty level of III UIAA, includes technical passages and exposed areas that require good preparation and confidence when climbing.
   
   

Views and descent
On the way up and down, you will be accompanied by unforgettable views of the Gerlach Peak, which is a constant companion of this adventure. The descent leads through the Opal Saddle below the Opal Wall, where the circuit is completed by connecting to the trail in the Velická Valley.

High
Considered one of the most beautiful Tatra peaks, Vysoka offers a view you will love. The climb to this majestic peak begins at Popradské pleso and leads along routes that will satisfy both lovers of classic hiking and those looking for adventure away from the crowds.

Tour options

1. Classic route (Normal):
   This route leads through the Zlomisková Valley to the Dračí sedlo and through the Central ravine directly to the main peak. It is ideal for those who want to experience a high-altitude hike with guaranteed views and an unforgettable atmosphere.
2. Extended variants Central trough:
   After climbing Dračí sedlo, you can turn off over the Rumanova bridge to Dračí štít and complete a short ridge route leading over both peaks of Vysoké.
3. Crown High – ridge:
   For experienced hikers, there is a unique opportunity to complete the Koruna Vysoké ridge. It connects Dračí štít, both peaks Vysoké and Žažký štít. The hike can start at Dračí štít or Žažký štít and forms a beautiful circuit. The ridge crossing offers breathtaking scenery, but requires technical proficiency and good fitness.

Time, distance and difficulty

• Ascent and descent time: 7 – 8 hours
• Distance: approx. 11 km
• Elevation: from Popradské pleso to the top of 1000 m
• Difficulty: I-III UIAA (depending on the variant) requires good fitness and experience with high mountain hiking
