The Matterhorn (Monte Cervino in Italian, Mont Cervin or Le Cervin in French) is considered one of the most beautiful and popular mountains in Europe. With a mountain guide, you can choose a variant of the ascent or, preferably, a transition from the Italian to the Swiss side.
At 4,478 meters above sea level, the Matterhorn is also the seventh highest mountain in the Alps. It rises on the border between Switzerland and Italy, above the Swiss Zermatt and the Italian city of Breuil-Cervinia. The name Matterhorn comes from the German matte (mountain meadow) and the characteristic shape of the mountain, horn (horn).
Ascent to the most beautiful peak of the Alps, as a variant from the Italian side from Cervinia along the western edge via the Carrel hut or from the Zermatt valley along the eastern edge via the Hornli huts; the descent is in the same directions. Another and our preferred option is the Italy-Switzerland crossing.
Maximum number of guests on the hike: 1
It is recommended to be well acclimatized before the climb, it is a fast climb where there is no time for much rest.
The UIAGM mountain guide has the highest international license to work in the mountains and has liability insurance.
