Trip description

Many are sure to ask themselves the question: "Am I sure that I can assess the risk of an avalanche hazard?" Can I help my loved ones or friends in the event of an avalanche? Can others rely on me?" For those who want to answer in the affirmative, there is an avalanche course where we will teach you everything you need.

In this avalanche course, we rely on small groups and an individual approach during training.

The avalanche course lasts 2.5 days. We start the evening with a visit to the chat and a theoretical lecture. We combine interactive teaching at the cottage with practice in the field in the vicinity of Labská bouda. We have a Pieps ART trainer, an ARVA training sail and an Ortovox SAM (Safety Academy Mountain) 3D tour planning training model. You will try working with individual types of avalanche search engines, you will practice searching for one or more people buried in an avalanche and their rescue, and the basics of first aid. You'll learn how to recognize potentially dangerous terrain, how to plan your hike, and how to behave in an avalanche once you get into it. You can experience the feeling of being buried. You will get to know the function of the ABS-airbag avalanche backpack.

We recommend taking the avalanche course on alpine skis or on a splitboard or snowboard in combination with snowshoes.
The teaching is supplemented by a sample hike, and the practical teaching takes place directly in the field on the hike, in the vicinity of the Labska bouda.

Two evenings at the Labska bouda with an experienced UIAGM mountain guide also give you enough space for discussions and your questions. At events, we use and rent outdoor equipment from Pieps, ABS avalanche airbag, SKI TRAB, Edelrid and Gara Splitboards.

The UIAGM mountain guide has the highest international license to work in the mountains and has liability insurance.
