Trip description

A unique project of CK Himalaya together with our friend Jesse Guthrie, the world icon of free climbing.

You will improve your climbing English, e.g. slang, idioms, names of knots, stands, holds and other essentials for your climbing and mountaineering expeditions.

You will get to know Jesse Guthrie and his stories from the days when he climbed with fighters like Jeff Lowe, Bernd Arnold, Jerry Moffatt, Wolfgang Gűllich, Kurt Albert and other icons of free climbing.

The event is one or two days long and is intended for experienced climbers who want to improve their climbing English. The teaching takes place together with the participation of a Czech ČAHV-UIAGM mountain guide with knowledge of English.

Come as you are and #climb&speak.

We are also preparing the project for French and German languages. Already today on request.

The UIAGM mountain guide has the highest international license to work in the mountains and has liability insurance.

What can you look forward to?

How big is the group?

Action is very individual for 1 – max 2 climbersThe aim is to give you enough space for your teaching and any English focus on the climbing area you will need. E.g. Are you planning a climbing project with your foreign partner, for which you have been training for a long time and you need to improve your communication skills in English? You know the basic concepts of climbing, but would you need more detailed advice to your sparring partner on how to overcome a crisis point? Do you need help solving a problem and want to be able to express yourself well? Want to be sure you'll be able to call for help and explain exactly what happened? We would find many examples, from climbing to mixes and ice climbing. That's why we have this individual project for you Climb&Speak. Do not hesitate to contact us with your individual requirements.

Who is the event for?

The event is intended for experienced climbers who want to improve their English.

How can I make an appointment?

Write us your ideas. It is advisable to devote at least 1 day to the event, preferably 2 days. We will contact you and agree on a specific date. The appointment is subsequently booked after receiving your payment.

What does the event price include?

Price includes: the teaching of mountaineering English under the guidance of Jesse Guthrie and the methodical guidance of the UIAGM mountain guide.
The price does not include: accommodation, food and insurance.

Can learning English be applied to ice climbing?

Yes, it is one of the specific areas of movement in the mountains. We can also prepare an English course for ice climbing. Do not hesitate to contact us.
