Experience an exciting climb to the Ortler (3905 m above sea level), the highest mountain in South Tyrol and one of the highest peaks in the Alps! This majestic mountain, rich in history and imposing beauty, offers a unique climbing experience for experienced climbers and hikers.
The "normal" ascent to the Ortler is a demanding glacier ascent, which combines II-III UIAA climbing with a via ferrata, crossing an unsecured route secured by a rope, walking with crampons and an ice ax on the glacier and, in some parts, abseiling the glacier surfaces. Experience of movement on the glacier and in the mountains and good physical condition are a necessary condition for mastering this hike.
An experienced UIAGM mountain guide will ensure maximum safety and comfort and share his knowledge and experience in mountaineering. Together with you, they will choose the optimal route and pace of ascent, taking into account your individual needs and fitness.
During the hike we will visit the Payer Hütte mountain hut (3029 m above sea level), before climbing to the summit.
The UIAGM mountain guide has the highest international license to work in the mountains and has liability insurance.
